
Scope and main activities
The EPS Association under Finnish Plastics Industries Federation FIPIF represents five EPS insulation board manufacturers, whose combined production accounts for about 90 per cent of the Finnish EPS insulation industry’s output. The EPS Association was founded in 1996 to act as a joint interest group for the companies involved in EPS construction insulation.
The main purpose of the EPS Association is to promote favourable conditions for sales and production in Finland and abroad. The EPS Association is also a member of EUMEPS European Manufacturers of Expanded Polystyrene. In addition, the cooperation between the Scandinavian branch organisations is close.
The key operating areas of the EPS Association arequality systems and environmental issues
quality control of Finnish EPS production according to the EPS 2000 -Product Classification System (EPS 2000 –tuoteluokitus) and EPS product standardisation
offering EPS product information and technical support and thus enhancing the public awareness of EPS products
promoting the economical and technical interests of the member companies
participation and coordination of cooperative national and international R&D projects
cooperation between public authorities, research institutes and other interest groups
